SKYY’s the Limit!November 6, 2008

I’m still celebrating Obama’s win, so I decided to mix up a couple of cocktails tonight. I’ve heard great things about the new SKYY infusions line, so that’s what I’ve been pouring tonight! First up I used the SKYY Infusions Citrus to mix up a Citrus Collins. The official recipe is:

1.5 oz SKYY Infusions Citrus

1 oz fresh lemon

.75 oz simple syrup

1 oz club soda

Pour first three ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into ice filled Collins glass and top off with club soda and garnish with lemon slice.

I changed this up just a bit, and muddled lemon wedges with fine sugar instead of the simple syrup/lemon juice combo and it turned out great! What I immediately noticed that the artificial taste that many flavored vodkas have was missing, thank god! The Citrus Collins matched my bubbly and fresh mood, so thumbs up!

Next up I cracked about the SKYY Infusions Passion Fruit bottle. I was excited about this one, especially after Natalie over the Liquid Muse gave it a thumbs up! I freestyled this one a bit, I mixed 1 oz SKYY Infusions Passion Fruit, 1 oz pomegranate juice, .5 oz fresh lemon juice and shook it over ice. Strained it into a cocktail glass and added a lemon zest and it was deeeeelish! Same as with the citrus, there was no artificial sugar, feel like you need to brush your teeth feeling ruining the flavor.
