While I’m anxiously awaiting the results of the real Oval Office election (it better be Obama or I’ll be blogging from France!), here’s an update on another election that took place on Monday. Oval Vodka held a competition at Cellar Bar in NYC last night to pick the official cocktail of the OVAL office. They had five entries (Dirty Victory, The Green House, Obamatini, The Maverick and Monica Lewinsky) and drumroll….the most notorious White House intern makes a comeback!! The Monica Lewinsky won the popular vote, seems the crowd was really digging this recipe:

MONICA LEWINSKY

2oz OVAL Vodka

1oz X-rated Liqueur

1oz fresh lemon lime sour

Sugared Rim

Fill shaker with ice. Add OVAL vodka, X-rated Liqueur and Fresh Lime Sour. Shake until your arm hurts and strain into a chilled martini glass. Wet rim and dip in Sugar. Garnish with fresh strawberry and lemon slice.

Personally I agreed with guest judge Richie Rich (of Heatherette) and went with the Obamatini. Not just because I’m an Obama supporter, but this recipe of OVAL, Navan Vanilla Cognac, Chambord, pineapple juice, fresh lemon juice, splash of champagne and fresh raspberry garnish was bubbly and the right amount of sweet for me. And as long as Barack wins tonight, I can deal with losing this one!
