GET BAR SMART!August 7, 2009
Now’s your chance to learn online for the legendary B.A.R. crew
Some of you may have heard about the Bar Smarts program, which started training bartenders last year. Sponsored by Pernod Ricard, Bar Smarts brings the masterminds of the B.A.R. program to major cities in the US to educate bartenders and other hospitality staff. While they are gearing up for another tour, there’s a new chance for non-bartenders and those that can’t make the live program to still get their hands on the knowledge Bar Smarts is spreading. Bar Smarts WIRED is your chance to learn online for the greats in the biz. Check out the official info and this link for an online demo
Bar Smarts Wired:
BarSmarts WIRED is the second and more broad-reaching phase of the Pernod Ricard-BAR LLC partnership’s successful and highly touted BarSmarts bartender training, education and certification program.
BarSmarts WIRED targets bartenders across the country by offering them the opportunity to participate in BarSmarts through a web-based education and certification program offered exclusively through password-protected entrance to the BarSmarts WIRED site. Unlike BarSmarts Advanced, which launched in October 2008 and includes LIVE training from all six BAR, LLC partners, WIRED is not an invitation only program. It is available to any bartender who is interested in learning the craft, advancing his or her career and becoming certified in advanced education. The BarSmarts WIRED on line course went live online on August 1 and will run through September 30.
Through BarSmarts WIRED, participants complete assignments, take exams and gain certification at home or in their work environment during the specified two-month window. The on line program covers topics such as: Spirits Knowledge & Tasting, Cocktail Knowledge & Technique, Bartending for Career Advancement, Service & Profit. The cost of the program is $45 and includes a BarSmarts branded bag and bar tools, which will be sent to all registered participants.
